What will I learn?

Finance pulls together issues of income, expenditures and risk that organizations analyze when making complex decisions. Finance programs at The UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management provide students with the quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills in high demand across the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors.

Careers in Finance

Graduates seek careers as analysts or consultants. The bachelor’s degree in finance prepares students to take the Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 examination as well as fulfill some of the educational coursework requirements to sit for the Certified Financial Planner examination. These certificates are important to those with careers in investment management or personal financial planning. A double major is offered in conjunction with the economics degree program to students interested in a more analytical career.

Jindal School students must complete an internship as a requirement for their major. The Jindal School’s fully staffed Career Management Center (CMC), working in tandem with the University’s Career Center, helps students prepare for and seek internships, as well as post-graduation employment. Both centers are staffed with licensed counselors who provide students with strategies for mastering job interviews, writing professional cover letters and resumes and connecting with campus recruiters, among other services.
