What will I learn?

Our Master’s in Biomedical Sciences Bridge Program is tailored for individuals aiming to strengthen their medical school applications. This one-year, full-time program is offered at both the Long Island, New York campus and the Jonesboro, Arkansas location on the Arkansas State University campus. The program equips you with essential skills and knowledge for medical school success. With a comprehensive curriculum that includes coursework in medical science, evidence-based study, critical thinking, and research, you’ll gain a solid foundation in both cognitive and behavioral skills necessary for a medical career. Successful graduates will earn a guaranteed spot in the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) for the year following completion of the Master’s Program with a recommendation from the Program Director. No MCAT test score is required to apply.

Our unique program features five key components:

  • Scientific Foundation of Medicine: Dive deep into the biological basis of health and disease, mirroring first-year medical school coursework.
  • Clinical Inquiry Courses: Engage in team-based learning tailored to biomedical science students, integrating knowledge through case-based learning and concept mapping.
  • Critical Thinking: Develop cognitive learning strategies and critical analysis skills essential for medical science competencies.
  • Research: Participate in a two-semester lab experience to build a strong research foundation.
  • Seminar: Discuss current scientific research, enhancing your understanding of scientific literature and data interpretation.

In addition to academic excellence, our program offers optional volunteer experiences and opportunities in servant leadership or health policy. You’ll leave the program with valuable recommendations from academic and medical professionals, ready to take on the challenges of medical school.
