What will I learn?

The Composition major trains students to be composers and versatile musicians. It is designed to help young composers develop/find their style/voice and compose out of educated intentionality. The program contains instruction in conducting, electronic music, improvisation, orchestration, theory and history courses. The Composition program has a rigorous and broad curriculum. Graduates are well equipped to compose, perform, and teach. Many graduates also continue their education through graduate school. Composition students are trained to be versatile composers and musicians.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have completed high school. English Language Requirements: IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL score of 80, PTE score of 60, Duolingo English Test score of 110. Application Deadline: February 1st for Fall semester; November 15th for Spring semester.
