The Bachelor of Science in Statistics prepares students to meet the surging demand for statisticians in today’s data-intensive world. Students can apply their analytical skills to solve real-world problems in nearly any area about which they are passionate. Choices include business, science, engineering, technology, healthcare, the environment, and sports. These are just a few of the many possibilities. There are excellent opportunities for a person with a degree in Statistics. Government agencies, businesses, industries, universities, and research labs continually look for talented individuals with this type of degree. Since job opportunities are greater for those with advanced statistical training, many undergraduates proceed directly to graduate work in statistics.

EMU admits students on a sliding scale based primarily on a combination of high school grade point average. If you have a high GPA, you may be admitted even if your test score is below our average. If you have a high test score, you may be admitted with a lower-than-average GPA.
