Delivery Options

Post-bachelor’s Au.D. Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus: traditional weekday hours.
Post-master’s Au.D. U.K.: Central London, Cavendish area (extended weekends every other month)

Credit Hours

Fort Lauderdale: four-year doctoral program: 119 post-baccalaureate credit hours.
U.K.: open only to master-degreed applicants: 34 post-master’s credit hours.

Program Outcomes

The graduate earning an Au.D. from the NSU Audiology Department will be able to:

  • Demonstrate clinical proficiency in diagnostic assessment methodology and the interpretation of diagnostic test results with a variety of clinical populations.
  • Develop and implement a plan for audiologic management and treatment based on clinical assessment data with a variety of clinical populations.
  • Collaborate and/or counsel effectively with patients, family members, care givers, and other professionals.
  • Evaluate and critically apply current research to determine and enhance clinical efficacy.
  • Demonstrate ability to assume a leadership role in professional, clinical, and scholarly activities.
  • Apply appropriate technologies to accomplish research, diagnosis, interpretation, management, and treatment activities.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Doctoral applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in their master's program. Applicants must possess a master's degree before beginning doctoral studies or is in the process of completing a master's degree from a regionally accredited university.

For international students

Specific pre-requisite coursework is not required. In-progress bachelor's degree (with degree conferral prior to August 15) or conferred bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university/college is required.

Admission Requirements - U.K. Program

Official transcript indicating conferral of a master's degree in audiology, by a regionally accredited institution in the UK. If master&'s degree if from outside the UK, please submit the transcript for evaluation to one of the following evaluation services.

All applicants who received their bachelors and any graduate degrees from a college or university where English is not the primary languages of instruction are required to take an English language test. Test scores cannot be more than two years old.

  • Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) minimum scores required.
  • Internet based (iBT) = 79, Computerized score = 213, Paper score = 550.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score required = 6.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) minimum sore required = 54.
  • TALK International, School of Languages: Completion of level 9 test with a score of 85% or higher.
  • Completion of ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 with a grade of 'C' or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
