What will I learn?

Accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), our PsyD program attracts students from around the country who achieve exceptional pass rates on the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology. The PsyD program is a member of the National Council of Schools and Programs in Professional Psychology (NCSPP). Faculty are active participants in NCSPP, which represents professional training programs nationwide, as well as educational and professional activities within APA.UIndy provides advanced clinical training at more than 40 affiliated, high-quality practicum sites and in 75 placements. Through at least two years of clinical training, we work hard to place you in settings that match your primary professional interests. Diverse settings include VA medical centers, university counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, CMHCs, hospital systems, residential facilities, correctional facilities, and specialized facilities for domestic violence, addictions and eating disorders.UIndy's highly regarded PsyD program gives students a solid foundation of core knowledge, along with the assessment, intervention and research skills necessary to successfully practice in the field.The PsyD program is a 111-credit hour program typically completed in five years including internship. Students in the PsyD program have the option of completing an MA degree (9 additional credit hours). To complete the program in the minimum amount of time, students must attend full-time during the academic year and summers.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Must have a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution (if MSN must be NLNAC, ACEN, CNEA or CCNE accredited) with a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

For international students

Applicants must have the Bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred for MA and required for PsyD.

Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum scores of at least IBT 100, CBT/TWE 250/5.0 or paper-based 603, IELTS - 7.0 required.
