What will I learn?

The Master of Arts in English welcomes all students who are interested in postgraduate study in English. The program offers three areas for students to choose from: creative writing literature or rhetoric, composition, and literacy.Graduate students are given opportunities to attend seminars and conferences, receive professional training in editing and composing for publications, teach classes in their field, and gain valuable experiences through internships related to their interests. Graduates of the master’s program have continued on to find success in further doctoral programs, teaching, writing, editing, managing web content, publishing, and journalism.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have completed a 4-year university degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.

Must have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned bachelor's degree and attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester credits.

English Proficiency:

TOEFL (iBT) Tests: 80

TOEFL Essentials Test: 9.0

IELTS Tests: 6.5

Pearson PTE: 59
