What will I learn?

The purpose of the Leadership for Teachers And Professionals Certificate is to develop building-level leaders who want to lead without leaving the classroom. Leaders will be prepared to assist their schools with data literacy, peer coaching, and working with urban student populations.

Students will be able to coach their peers in the use of high-leverage field practices.
Students will be able to use data to make decisions about instruction at both the classroom and building levels.
Students will be able to successfully coach a peer through the review process.
Students will be able to take a stance on a policy related to urban education.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Bachelor’s Degree – You must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, or an approved international equivalent. Grade Point Average – You must have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.75 (4.00=A) for your bachelor’s degree, or a minimum 3.00 (4.00=A) for the last two years (60 semester hours).

For international students

Michigan Test of English Language Placement (MTELP) - Minimum score: 85; Pearson Test of English (PTE)- Minimum score: 65.

Application Deadline: May 1 for fall semester; Oct. 1 for spring semester.
