What will I learn?

Program Objectives

This program aims to help the end user and professional understand, design, configure and maintain the widening range of devices that have access to the Internet, from single-board computers and refrigerators to cars and thermostats. Also lays the foundation for securing networks to prevent their being compromised.

Learning Outcomes

Students in the Network Security and Information Assurance Graduate Certificate Program will learn a wide range of leadership and management skills in addition to the following skills: Computational methods that provide secure internet communication; Network management technology and techniques; Emerging network management standards; Widely used security applications, schemes and practices on the internet and enterprise networks; Information assurance, and network and computer security concepts, applications and standards; Audit, control and security issues, requirements and processes in organizational information systems; Computer security auditing.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for a Graduate Certificate program at NJIT, you must have completed a Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent elsewhere, and demonstrate high academic achievement in an appropriate discipline.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Duolingo or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be asked of international applicants not holding a degree from a United States post-secondary institution. The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper-based TOEFL exam. A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam or 120 on the Duolingo exam.
