What will I learn?

The RTCP is designed to educate the next generation of rural health advanced practice nurses to provide telehealth services in rural, medically underserved areas, and to serve as leaders in improving quality and access to care for these patients. Telehealth is “the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health and health administration “(HRSA).

The College of Nursing at the University of Arizona offers a variety of programs at the graduate level. Programs are available for students pursuing a first degree in nursing, as well as students interested in advancing in the professional as leaders, advanced practice nurses, and nurse researchers.

Entry requirements

For international students

To qualify for entry into Rural Telehealth Certificate Program (RTCP), you must have an undergraduate degree (BSN) and active unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse (RN).

Students are admitted to the certificate program once per year for a Spring start. Applications open mid-August with an end of October deadline.

Acceptable English Proficiency credentials:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15). Individual MyBest scores must also be dated within 2 years of the enrollment term to be considered valid.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
Pearson PTE Academic - minimum score of 60
Graduate English Language Endorsement from the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL)
CEPT Full Academic test - offered by our Center for English as a Second Language (CESL), minimum Total score of 110
