This program gives K-12 and postsecondary teachers, administrators, and education professionals the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, implement, and supervise programs in the education of gifted and talented students.
Curriculum
This program is designed for degree-seeking or nondegree-seeking students who have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. The program is only available to international students enrolled in a concurrent graduate program. Students must complete at least 12 credits of the following coursework:
EPSY 5101—Intelligence and Creativity (3 cr)
EPSY 5191—Education of the Gifted and Talented (3 cr)
EPSY 5991 (Section 4)—Independent Study in Educational Psychology (3 cr)
Elective
One elective course (minimum 3 credits) is required with approval of the certificate program director. Examples include coursework in learning and cognition, social psychology of education, measurement, or coursework in another discipline such as curriculum and instruction, educational administration, child development, or psychology.

Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for graduate admission.
English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – 79; IELTS Academic – 6.5; MELAB – 80; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – 180.
