What will I learn?

Study visual communications from a multi-dimensional perspective.

You’ll create distinctive visual designs as you study typography, layout, color, movement, space, and visual hierarchy, becoming a communicator and a problem solver in every phase of production. You’ll also build skills in multimedia as you work on websites, design interactive solutions, work with print design, and create photos and videos.

Long recognized as one of the elite schools of mass communication, Newhouse embraces virtually every known form of information dissemination. Programs are rooted in the liberal arts while you learn how to manage and produce for the mass media and other areas of public communications.

Graphic design majors have access to the latest in digital tools. Design classes are project-oriented. You’ll learn to work individually and in teams to address client needs with both online and print solutions. Each class contributes to your growing portfolio of work which will demonstrate your skill and accomplishments in design.
