Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants to the Ph.D. program should have a M.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, or management science. Although a person with a bachelors degree may be admitted, this program is designed principally for people who have masters degrees. To be accepted as graduate degree candidates, applicants must have maintained an average of B (3.00 on a 4.00 scale) or better in their undergraduate work.

Language Proficiency

Required scores on the Internet-based (iBT) and Computer-based TOEFL:

An overall score of 80 or above (82 for teaching assistantship consideration), AND Minimum scores in the following areas: Reading: 19; Writing: 18; Listening: 17; Speaking: 18 (the suggested minimum speaking score for a teaching assistantship is 20)
