What will I learn?

The Bertolon School of Business Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to prepare students to manage, lead, and compete in today’s marketplace. We utilize research, technology, experiential exercises, case studies, and fieldwork to provide students with an integrative understanding of the global economic environment. Students can take electives in a variety of areas including accounting, financial planning, business, marketing, management information systems, and operations. We also offer a graduate certificate in business, which may be applied toward an MBA degree for qualified applicants.

Offered both full and part-time, our 36-credit (minimum) program consists of 9 core courses in accounting, finance, management, marketing, and business; and 3 electives in accounting, financial planning, business, marketing, management information systems, and operations. Six additional foundation courses are available for students who lack a business background. Certificate programs are 18-credits and can be applied toward an MBA degree for qualified applicants.

Program highlights:

  • Flexible course formatting including evening, weekends, hybrid, and online
  • Full-time students can complete the program in two years; part-time students can complete in program in three to six years, depending on the number of courses taken per semester

An MBA is a highly versatile degree with skills that are relevant to almost any workplace. Common job titles for those who hold MBAs include Business Manager, Business Data Analyst, Human Resources Director, Financial Analyst, Financial Manager, Marketing Manager, Project Manager, and Management Consultant.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA for graduates of the Salem State BSBA program or graduates of any AACSB accredited school.

For international students

Students must

  • Requires a 3.0 cumulative graduate GPA in five of the six GCB courses, with no less than a B in any course.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA for graduates of the Salem State BSBA program or graduates of any AACSB accredited school.
  • 3.5 cumulative GPA for graduates of any non-AACSB accredited school.
