What will I learn?

The public sector is rapidly evolving due to the growing need for public policy and research and an increased social interest in politics, foreign affairs, and public policy. The Master of Public Administration (MPA) at National University will prepare you for a high-level position in government management at the federal, state, and local level and nonprofit management. Throughout your study, you will learn how to apply traditional business skills (financial management, budgeting, research, etc.) to the unique challenges of public administration.

Upon successful completion of this master’s degree program, you will be able to utilize critical thinking and research methods, evaluate new public management, analyze political influences and governmental power division, evaluate government employees and public administration strategies and decision, and synthesize grant proposal resources and approaches.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university where an overall grade point average of 2.5 or better was achieved, or where a grade point average of 2.75 or higher was achieved in the last 90 quarter units.

For international students

Four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum GPA or 2.5, or completion of National University’s Foreign Credential Bridge Program. p>

TOEFL score - 79 (IBT); IELTS score - 6, with no band lower than a 5; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA) – 58; International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) – 5; Certificate of Proficiency in English with a C grade or higher; Certificate of Advanced English with a C grade or higher.
