What will I learn?

The curriculum for the Public Health Administration (PHAD) provides instruction in several key administrative areas. Many of the courses are similar to the required courses in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with the difference that the PHA major curriculum focuses on applications and issues in healthcare.

PHAD is designed to prepare students to assume administrative responsibilities in healthcare agencies, government, community organizations and private industry. Graduates of the Public Health Administration major will have the following core competencies:

  • Supervise subordinates using techniques endorsed by human resource experts.
  • Manage a public health organization using contemporary standards and practices.
  • Comply with applicable legal standards and federal requirements pertaining to public health. employees and organizations.
  • Develop and administer and organizational budget.
  • Evaluate the financial and economic health of an organization, business or practice.
  • Apply relevant economic theory to organizational situations.
  • Evaluate administrative personnel, organizational effectiveness, economic stability, regulatory compliance and related supervisory programs and practices.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

All applicants are required to have Four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with A 2.70 cumulative GPA for all previous academic work. All applicants with less than a 2.70 cumulative GPA on all undergraduate work are required to submit GRE scores. Some programs may have higher GPA requirements. English Language Requirements: TOEFL IBT equal to 80 or above, TOEFL PBT: 550 or IELTS equal to 6.5.

For international students
