What will I learn?

The outstanding academic and clinical resources of UCSF Health Sciences and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals provide the experience and training you need whether your goal is in academia, community public health, or private practice.

In addition to the first-class academic and clinic opportunities afforded at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, our affiliation with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland provides a wealth of experience in treating pediatric dental trauma in the emergency department as well as children with other sub-medical specialties.

The full-time, 36-month program, which begins in July, offers GME funding for residents. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a certificate of advanced dentistry in pediatric dentistry and MS in oral and craniofacial sciences, and you will be eligible for examination by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Some of our students go on to pursue a PhD in oral and craniofacial sciences. Students who already have obtained an advanced research degree (e.g., MS, MPH, PhD or equivalent) are not required to enroll again in a graduate school program for an additional research degree.
