What will I learn?

This program recognizes that an individual's beliefs, world views and values are key components in the healing and treatment process. The MSW/MDiv dual degree is offered jointly with the following schools: Loyola University Chicago Institute of Pastoral Studies, McCormick Theological Seminary, and the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Catholic Theological Union.

Curriculum

MSW/MDiv Dual Degree

The MSW/MDiv program blends coursework from both the School of Social Work and a pastoral studies program listed below. For the MSW part of the program, students with a bachelor's degree should follow the traditional MSW curriculum requirements. Those students who received a BSW degree within the past five years may be eligible to take the MSW Advance Standing option.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

The Graduate School welcomes applications from international students who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent.

For international students

Students must have earned bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree in progress.

English language requirements:

For the TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based test or 550 on the written test is required. The minimum score for the new TOEFL IBT (internet-based test) is 79.

For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 is required.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
