Governors State’s Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics equips students with the ability to think independently, creatively, and critically through a curriculum balanced between theoretical and applied study. Students can elect to pursue a concentration in Actuarial Science to prepare for a career in risk analysis. As a mathematics student, you will gain a broad understanding of concepts in algebra, geometry, calculus, physics, and statistics. At least one course in computer science is required-though more may be elected-preparing you with the technical skills needed for many mathematical career paths.
