What will I learn?

The social sciences have never been more vital to our increasingly global society. As a social studies or history teacher, you can help students understand the world and the events that have shaped it. You’ll also help them understand their roles in society and how to be responsible, thoughtful citizens.At the University of Central Missouri, you can learn how to become a history teacher or social studies teacher in our Middle School and Junior High School Education program, which includes Social Science Education. Complete your Bachelor of Science in Education degree with us to make a difference. At UCM, we know students have different needs at different ages. That’s why we offer a program specific to middle school and junior high education - the largest of its kind in Missouri.Its recognition by the Association of Middle Level Education (AMLE) demonstrates our commitment to not only your education but also that of your future students. Entry requirements

For international students

All undergraduate students are required to upload unofficial transcripts to their student portal (created upon application submission) and submit official transcripts to our office. These transcripts will be used for advisement purposes. Students must have a 2.0 high school GPA or above to be admissible. If the applicant has taken undergraduate coursework the cumulative GPA of the undergraduate coursework must be a 2.0 or higher to be admissible.
