The Department of Chemistry provides a broad range of subjects, courses and opportunities for independent research at the master's (MS degree) level. Programs are designed to provide suitable preparation for public school teaching, for governmental and industrial employment, and for research.
Chemistry laboratories are equipped for research in physical, organic, inorganic, biological, and analytical chemistry. Modern chemical instrumentation includes NMR, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, and atomic absorption spectrophotometers; gas and liquid chromatographs; an ultracentrifuge; a cold room; and standard laboratory instruments.
There are two options of study for a M.S. in Chemistry.
