The Department of Health Behaviour and Nutrition Sciences offers a combined 4+1 Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master of Science (MS) in Human Nutrition program that allows students enrolled in the undergraduate Nutrition and Dietetics major to complete both the BS and the MS in a total of five years of full-time study. All requirements of both degree programs must be satisfied, and up to 7 credits of graduate coursework may be dual counted to satisfy requirements of both the BS degree and the MS degree.
Students may apply to the 4+1 BS/MS program by March 15 of their sophomore or junior year (after successful completion of a minimum of 45 credits). Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75, a grade of B or better in STAT 200 or equivalent, and be enrolled in the Nutrition and Dietetics major. Students enrolled in the 4+1 BS/MS program must select the non-thesis option for the MS portion of the degree and can choose a concentration in Dietetics, Public Health, Health Coaching, or no concentration.
