What will I learn?

Whether you want to assess the impacts of hurricanes on shorelines or research how climate contributes to environmental and societal change, our oceanography program provides you the knowledge needed to tackle contemporary problems and complex policy issues affecting the oceans. As an oceanography major, you will develop proficiencies in mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, and effective oral and written communication skills. Our program allows you to focus on specific interests through elective coursework. The applied learning component provides you opportunities to participate in ship-based or field coursework, internships, and faculty-directed research.

Applicants must have an official transcript directly from all the high schools.

English Proficiency

TOEFL: minimum of 71.

IELTS: minimum of 6.0

Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 105

Pearson PTE - minimum score 54

iTEP Academic - minimum score of 3.7. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once they become complete: Fall - April 1; Spring - October 1.
