The ultrasound. The sonogram. The echocardiogram. All are the result of special imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient's body to assess and diagnose various medical conditions. Such imaging equipment is an invaluable tool in quality healthcare, and the diagnostic medical sonographer is the person trained to use that tool. MTSU's Pre-Diagnostic Medical Sonography program helps prepare students for this challenging and rewarding profession.
The diagnostic medical sonographer will be in demand if imaging equipment is an integral part of the health care experience.
