Investigate a Career in Chemical Engineering

Sign up for a Pre-Engineering Specialization in Chemical Engineering at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Through this course of study, your engineering education will be immersed in the chemistry and engineering instruction you need to be prepared for a future in chemical engineering. You will also enroll in typical university core curriculum and foundational curriculum courses to give you a well-rounded college experience.

Taking the Next Steps in Your Specialization

After completing the coursework for this two-year program, you may apply for admission to the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston, transfer to a different university system, or remain at UHCL. This gives you the power to choose the direction of your education and your future. Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma.

Proof of English Language Proficiency

Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, You can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
