Radiation therapists are on the front lines in the battle against cancer, serving as an invaluable member of the radiation oncological team in hospitals and cancer treatment centres. The patients treated by a radiation therapist are often at their most sick and vulnerable, so a therapist is often able to provide comfort beyond the actual operation of the machines used in treatment.
According to the Bureau of Labour Statistics, “employment of radiation therapists is expected to grow by 20 percent between 2010 and 2020, faster than the average for all occupations.”
