The University of Bayreuth’s students are highly satisfied with the content and quality of their studies and the study conditions.

Teaching quality

In all areas included in the 2018 Times Higher Education European Student Survey, the University of Bayreuth received student ratings that are above the national average. The University achieved seventh place among the 31 universities in Germany that participated in the survey. Among the smaller universities in Germany, it is at the top.

Students rated the quality of their learning environment, such as lecture halls, libraries and laboratories, above average and, compared to other countries, are very satisfied with the access to the teaching materials required for their studies.

University’s Faculties

The University of Bayreuth has six Faculties, whose disciplinary and interdisciplinary concentrations has resulted in the University’s national and international reputation.

New for 2018

The University’s new study offers are:

  • Bachelor's degree programs
  • Environmental and Resource Technology B.Sc.
  • Law and Economics LL.B.
  • Vocational Education Department of Electrical Engineering B.Ed.
  • Computer Science M.Sc.
  • Mechanical Engineering M.Sc.

Apart from the six Faculties, the University has also a new Faculty in the pipelines on the Kulmbach Campus. The Faculty VII - Food, Nutrition & Health is an integrative approach, and deals with interdisciplinary research based on the natural sciences, a methodological revolution in biosciences, and modern conceptions of economics, law, social sciences, and behavioural sciences.

The University of Bayreuth maintains over 300 intensive strategic bilateral partnerships in the areas of research and teaching. Students have plenty of opportunities to participate in study abroad programmes, with the University’s numerous partnerships with countries like USA, Australia, and China.
