In May 2019, Trinity College Dublin initiated Inspiring Generations. This is the largest philanthropic campaign to ever take place in the country. It aims to raise EUR 400 million to fund transformational research projects at the university, and influence members of the global Trinity community to partake in 150,000 hours of volunteering. It is the first major campaign in Trinity’s history.
The campaign aims to attract the best students and academics from all countries and backgrounds. They will come together through research to tackle some of the globe’s key problems, such as environmental and medical issues.
Flagship projects that will benefit from this funding include global challenges across Engineering, Environment and Emerging Technologies, the Trinity St James’ Cancer Institute, Trinity’s Old Library and much more. The student scholarships and academic posts on offer will also be enhanced.
Rated as a Best Regional College by the Princeton Review 2019, Trinity College Dublin provides an unparalleled education to innovative students looking to push boundaries. A myriad of opportunities are available for students to learn from and be inspired by global leaders, as well as benefit from some of the world’s greatest libraries and research centres.
Classes are in the form of lectures, tutorials and practicals. Lecture theatres can hold over 150 people, and small group tutorials can have around 15–20 students. Some courses have fewer students in each class, and modules in the third and fourth years of study can be much smaller. Tutorials are more informal and allow discussion and collaboration.
Courses are designed in light of university research and the needs of the world, and students are given the opportunity to specialise in the final years of their studies. This includes the option to pursue an individual research project.
Many courses also include the chance to study at an esteemed university overseas.

A wide variety of intriguing courses are on offer to pique the interest of all prospective students, such as Engineering with Management; Global Business; Immunology and International History; Law, Medicine, Mental Health Nursing; Radiation Therapy; and Stage Management and Technical Theatre.
Trinity International Foundation Programme is a 1-year pre-university programme. Students who successfully complete the International Foundation Programme and reach the required grades gain entry to the first year of undergraduate degrees at Trinity.

To obtain a place to study as an undergraduate or postgraduate student at Trinity College Dublin, international students must be able to prove proficiency in the English language. Accepted English language qualifications include the following:

Students who cannot meet the English language requirements have the option to pursue a pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes Programme.
Trinity’s 47-acre campus has a range of modern facilities such as the Sports Centre, Nanoscience Research Centre, Science Gallery and a Global Room which holds social and networking events. The campus is also home to the largest library in Ireland, which consists of more than six million volumes.
The Students’ Union ensures that all students at Trinity are valued members of the community and offer plenty of support and extra-curricular activities. Students can immerse themselves in one of the 120 societies or 48 sports clubs, ranging from an animation society to Gaelic football.
There is also the ‘Phil’, the oldest debating society in the entire world, where special guests have included Amy Poehler and Chris Hadfield. Students can choose which societies or clubs to join at Freshers’ Week events, where they can additionally enjoy course-specific social events and the Trinity Ball.
Dublin as a city is a diverse and vibrant capital to have an unforgettable time in. For those who love nature, there are many green spaces that can be easily accessed, such as city parks, the coastline, mountains and more. Trinity College Dublin strives to help students to succeed without worrying about financial issues, so there are several undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships on offer to eligible students.
An award of EUR 3,000 – 5,000 as a tuition fee discount in the first year of study, based on academic excellence.
An award of EUR €2,500 – 5,000 as a tuition fee discount in the first year of study, for Chinese nationals under the Claddagh Scholarship Programme.
An award of up to EUR 5,000 as a tuition fee discount in the first year of study, for Indian nationals based on academic excellence.
An award of EUR 3,000 – 5,000 as a tuition fee discount in the first year of study, based on academic excellence.
There are subject-specific scholarships available and students are encouraged to research the external funding opportunities that may be on offer from their home country.
