About Ca’ Foscari

Ca’ Foscari University of Venice was originally established as Italy’s first business school in 1868, so this year it is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Today, it is a multidisciplinary institution that ranks among the country’s best universities and offers a wide range of study programmes in economics, management, foreign languages, the humanities and the sciences. Ca’ Foscari has about 20,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students, and hosts over 1,300 foreign students each year. Thanks to its location – the awe-inspiring historic centre of Venice – the university offers the uniquely rewarding opportunity of studying and growing in a city that is not only one of the world’s most beautiful, but also a place that brings together cultural tradition and intellectual innovation.

With its reputation for excellence in research, Ca’ Foscari has been awarded more of the EU’s coveted Marie Curie grants than any other Italian institution in the recent years. It is also ranked among the world’s top 150 universities for Modern Languages and in the top 250 lfor Economics & Econometrics in the QS Rankings. Ca’ Foscari guarantees students a well-rounded study experience through its provision of a host of student services and a wide variety of sports activities and student associations. The university is located in the world-famous city of Venice, a unique urban centre situated in a lagoon on the north-eastern coast of Italy that is directly connected to the Adriatic Sea. With canals and boats instead of streets and cars, Venice’s truly singular historic centre has always been a sight to behold, its beauty in constant transformation with changes in the weather and the coming and the going of the seasons.
