This is a very bad Institute! With a whole lot of ranges of institutes to study in Auckland, I have made the worst choice to study in NSIA! First of all, I must admit that they have really good Marketing team to market this horrible institute to trap students into studying here. With the cost that is relatively cheaper than some outstanding Universities like AUT and MIT, it is really not worth the money at all to study here in NSIA, I would rather spend more money and study in AUT or MIT. Secondly, there was problem with my payment, I made my payment on time to NSIA, and it took nearly a month for them to notice my payment and I had to travel back and forth to the bank and to the Institute to get my payment sorted, which was a horrible experience as I wasted a lot of time before I even started studying. Thirdly, the students are international (90% from China), and they are allowed to speak their own language in class and not English, so that the students' English in NSIA would never improve majorly, as they would stay in groups to speak their own language and there is nothing that the Chef's or Teachers can do about it. Some Chef here are horrible Teachers who cannot teach and not know his material well, and cannot even speak English or understand English properly. Fourthly, the Student Services are ONLY nice before we entered this Institution, after that, they would never take care of you. Student Service officer like Jennifer is always grumpy and never helpful. They would never care about students' wellbeing as they have been campaigning to gain more and more students. Bad Student Service Overall. Moreover, the students don't get to choose the timetable, some classes finish at 9pm on the timetable, but in reality, it always finishes after 10pm. I have requested for a timetable change several times, but their system is so unfair. I have applied for timetable change one month in prior before moving to the next block semester, and one student in my class applied for the same timetable change 3 weeks after me, to the same class that I requested to move to. The result was disappointing, I did not get the timetable that I requested with the reason that "The Class is Full!", however, my classmate who requested to change 3 weeks after me, got the timetable change. The Job prospect.. It is good, IF you are planning to work in a fish and chip shop, or other Chinese Takeaways. don't get your hopes up to work in good Restaurants after graduating NSIA, it is nearly impossible, as Good Restaurants look down on NSIA students. Overall Experience, learn from my mistake, invest your money on studying in a far better University. Please. show less
