Other eligibility requirements

Applicants must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in postgraduate study in Astronomy or Astrophysics at the University: either in a programme for a PhD or in Part II of a programme for an MSc degree.

Tenure: Up to 120 points of enrolment

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time or part-time postgraduate study in Astronomy or Astrophysics: either in a programme for a PhD or in Part II of a programme for an MSc degree.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need/hardship

Selection criteria

In making the recommendation, the selection committee considers academic achievement.

If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit, no scholarship is offered.
