Liverpool is well connected to other cities

When you come here for this course, make sure you study hard. Be warned the classes are quite long they are 90 minutes rather an an hour, and they start at 9am and sometimes you won't finish until 6.15pm which is a long day but you won't often have full days. I want to do a degree in Mechanical engineering after this, you need a 60% , and a 65% in English to get onto the course at the University of Liverpool. I have a 55% at the moment in English so hopefully i can achieve the 65% needed. I like the city, it is near to Manchester, and you can get to London in just over 2 hours so you are really well connected to other main cities.

If possible just go straight to the university, skip this college

I'd recommend the University of Liverpool which we go onto from the international college , but not the college. The international college puts too much pressure on alot of useless work and not relevant subjects. Some subjects are great, and the teachers are brilliant. The tutorials are really helpful and I learn alot more from them. The city of Liverpool is very nice, and the university has great library facilities and it is modern. We get to use the universities facilities at the college. I wouldn't recommend the college, if possible just go straight into the university, that is alot better.

Great for people who've taken a break from education for a few years

The course takes a lot of time and work. I am in lectures around 23 hours a week, these include a variety of lessons like skills for study, 6 hours of English, and basic engineering modules as well. Be warned if you are doing this course, it is repeating things from further education school, but it is vital if you've had 2+ years out of education as it really refreshes things you've forgotten and improves your knowledge. I stopped studying 3 years ago, so this has really helped me get back into understanding the subject area, as I want to do engineering at the university after this. I'd recommend it if you are not that confident in your knowledge or you've taken some time out.

Different experience socially from back home, so much freedom

Here is is very different from home, especially in the social life and freedom. There is so much freedom. The course is done by many different subject areas, I like my lectures and lecturers they are friendly and helpful. It is a fantastic experience to study in the UK i hope to do my undergraduate at the University of Liverpool in Mechanical engineering. I think i need around a 60-65% to take this up. The foundation course which I am doing now, can be repetitive on information, but that is just to make sure we have it all down. The English classes are very good, Arabic is my mother tongue, so I like learning more about the language as well as improving it.

Accessible city, with everything you need

If you come here, make sure you come with an open mind. It is a highly cultural diverse college to go too. The course I am on kind of just recaps things I have done before back home and it recaps itself on the course. It makes sure you have down the foundations for your future studies. It is helpful. It depends on were you come from and your educational background whether or not you find the course hard, as it varies per student how difficult they time it. I want to do my degree at University of Liverpool when i have completed this course. I need about a 60% i think. The city is very accessible, and you don't have to travel far to get to anything, everything is within walking distance, it has everything you need not too far away from each other.

I hope to do my undergraduate here - so I must like it here.

Since I came here, I have worked very hard and the work is intense. We have lots of lectures, around 20 hours a week plus, with 12 hours of English lessons which are very useful. We have to do an additional 5-4 hours of study in our personal time a week to keep on top of the work. I need a 60% across all subject areas to get onto the civil engineer course that I want to do when I graduate. I hope i get it so I can continue my studise here at Liverpool. I love living here, it is culturally interesting and the city is great. The local 'scouse' people are friendly. But be warned it is bad weather here alot of rain. If you go into university accomodation view it first, as some like vine court look really good, but others like Myrtle court have a ioor atmosphere.

Learning lots, but it is hard work

The foundation course in Engineering is very difficult and different to what I have studied back home. It challanges me alot, and I am learning lots. We have 6 hours of English lessons a week, which has really helped me in my spoken and written English. I hope to do Electronical Engineering when I finish at the University of Liverpool, for for this I need a 65% in the college, which I really hope I get. If i do not, i am considering going to Swansea University as they have lower requirements. I like living here. I live on Mann island in the city centre. Everything you need is close together. I love the football here, I am a really big fan of Liverpool football club, and I have been to a match.

I love the city!

I am really enjoying studying at the International College in Liverpool. It is a great new experience, and I love living here in liverpool. the course is great, it is a new experience, and I have made lots of new friends from other countries and cultures from my course. The people overall in Liverpool are friendly. I live in Mann island in the city, it is near a beach. It is nice to live here. I love the football teams in Liverpool too. This course is a serious course though, you must must must work hard on it. It has really improved my confidence with English and my maths. It teaches you vital skills which you will need to know for your future degrees or for the work course. I hope to do engineering at the university of liverpool when i complete it.

You must make the effort

If you are to come here to study this course, you must study alot and make the effort. It is not an easy course to study. It is intense, lots of work and reading. This college leads into the University of Liverpool. But you need to achieve over 60% overall to get a place onto a course which relates into the university of liverpool, but you need a 65% in English. We have about 6 hours of english classes a week. Different universities may want less. The city is really modern to live in , as is the university and the resources. I have made lots of good friends studying here. I hope to go onto the university to study engineering.

The course teaches us what we need for an undergraduate degree

The international college is attached to the university of liverpool. It is good for chineses students. It is also good to mix with other students as we have alot of international students from alot of different countries here. We learn alot here, and this is all relevent to university. It teaches us what is needed for going forward onto an undergraduate degree for all areas. I.e. it teaches us essay skills, how to articulate ourselfs, it also improves our English with 3 lessons in English a week. The whole experience is good. People are very friendly, and lots of people to interact with, and lots of different cultures which you can learn from. I like it here. Unsure on job prospects yet though.
