Being a graduate student in the Rehabilitation Institute has provided me with a number of opportunities to develop professionally through my graduate assistantships. As a graduate assistant I have not only had the opportunity to collaborate with professors to teach classes, but also attend conferences to present research ideas and enhance my networking skills.

Why did you choose to attend SIU?
The doctoral program offers interdisciplinary courses and the academic environment cultivates multi-disciplinary research.

What is your favorite class so far and why? 
History of Media Arts: Blaxploitation Films is my favorite class as it brings to light this important genre through a historical perspective.

What is your favorite place to go off campus?
Giant City Park is my favorite location with its trails and beautiful scenery during autumn.

The best decision I have made

Searching for grad school was really tough, especially in the US, where there are hundreds of universities, choosing SIU was the best decision I have made.
Before joining the school, I had good communication and guidance from, the Director of Graduate Studies and Graduate Program Assistant. The small, yet focused faculty really made an impression on me.
