Packed course with a very broad learning experience
The Diploma of Screen and Media was a very hands-on course. It taught me all the foundation skills that I need to be able to work in the industry even after just one year. Since the focus is on actually making films it gave me much more than practical experience than expected. With a combination of both local and international students it allows the school to have a large variety of creative people from all different cultures.

Very intense and practical.
What you get from the Diploma in Screen and Media depends on how much work you are willing to put into it. The course is very practical and industry oriented. The run down warehouse feel of the place grew on me very early on in my course and the teachers were incredibly helpful and dedicated to all the student films that come out of the joint. The course itself was highly practical and VERY intense (not recommended for the weak hearted). What they lack in not having a slick campus and top of the line equipments, they make up for it by the focus on storytelling and the vast community of filmmakers you walk into.

Outdated and the Diploma isn't worth anything (they print it out of there own computer) .Students and staff are required to clean the decrepit building. Dirty, rat & pigeon infested. The teachers are not flexible in their teachings and they tend to teach outdated information. When people can no longer find work in the industry - they come to Sydney Film School to die
