The course is diverse

The course is really diverse, it has lots of people on it from all over the world, and the course opens doors into opportunities and good contacts. The lectures/lecturers are decent, it is only 1st year you can't expect to much from everything. Try to make the most out of your time here. Accommodation I live in private halls, I live in Arndale house, it costs too much for what it is I think. The weather here is unstable which is a down side, but it is really cheap to live here, much more than other places in the UK and the world, especially cheaper than living in London.

Course lecturers aren't great, but university is lovely.

I find the teachers here aren't good, so I would not recommend the course, but I would recommend the university. Some ethnic minority teachers you can not understand them (chinese teachers) as there English is poor, but they are good at research. They can't explain things, and you end up doing a lot more self study than expected. The university is good though. The resources are good, the facilities are good. The library is open 24h 7 days a week which is good, the library staff are really helpful, more so than some lecturers. I am in university lecturers around 32h a week on average. We have lots of assignments due in, so if you do decide to do this course it is hard work and long hours.

Early clinical placements, Great course, Great university

Coming onto the course is a pretty steep learning curve from school. But here at the university of Liverpool you will get alot more out of it than at other universities and other countries universities. The course gives you loads of clinical (practical) experience in hospitals. The practical experience is invaluable. The lecturers are really good, and you have lots to learn. There are lots of hospitals in the area so you don't often have to travel to cities far away for placements. I am in university a week (unless on placement) between 32-40h a week. I want to specialist in accident and emergency, and Aintree hospital is the biggest trauma centre in the North West, and that has been my favourite for placement. Every placement has pros and cons to it. Accommodation in Liverpool is nice, lots of it, in my first year 4 years ago i stayed in Prospect point which was nice and centre, but prices there have got steep, you would want to look around at prices before choosing. A bonus to studying in the UK is you are guaranteed job once you finish.

I dislike my course, but I like the university

The university is great, but do not do this course. It is hard. The lecturers mark really harshly compared to other courses as this course is more written. You must have really good English and understanding of English to succeed in it. It is very very difficult to gain high marks. It really tests the English language ability, and as an International student i struggle with the demands of it. I think I'd have enjoyed a course like maths or accounting or maybe finance more than this. It is peaceful to live here more so than China. There are also lots of chinese students to talk too and help you settle it. Down side is there is not much funding, and what funding there is is very harshly tested academically.

You can't be lazy to do this course.

The application process to gain admissions into the university was very straight forward, I transferred from a university in Sri Lanka. I get £1,000 of my fees, so there is funding which varies on individual case. The course is tough I am not going to lie. You can not be lazy to do this course, and to do this course successfully. It is a lot of work, early starts, and deadlines. I live in a house with other students, which has been a great experience to live with my friends while studying. I have an interview next week for a graduate placement, fingers crossed for it, then I will know more about job opportunities.

Uni of Liverpool is fantastic!

I really love it here. The course is fantastic, it gives you lots of independence. Make sure you make the most of your time here. Make sure you enjoy it, and talk to your tutors and lecturers lots, they are knowledgeable and use this to your academic advantage. I love the city, the air is really fresh it is much better than the air quality in China. The accommodation here is nice too, I live in Lennon studios (unite halls accommodation). It can be noisy but it is all part of the experience being here and being a student. I rate it 5 all around. I love it.

Really good bursaries

I came from the Liverpool International College, into the university. You need to get a 65% overall to get onto this course from there, and I did quite well and got a bursary as well in 1st and 2rd year which gave me £4,000 off fees - but i needed to get a 1st to maintain this. I lost it in 3rd year so I only got £1,000 off. The bursaries here are good. The course is well structured and it is good course to study I am enjoying it. It is alots of work to get a good grade though. If you can apply yourself you can get good marks, still enjoy yourself and go out and have a good time. There are lots of things to do in Liverpool you won't get bored.

Different educational experience

My experience has been great. The UK has been very different in education system. In the UK it is a lot less pressure, it is more relaxed atmosphere in regards to studying. The lecturers are more informal as well, as they are lectures not classes. The course is not alot of work - like it isn't too much work like back home in Singapore. We only have 3 main universities back home, but here loads like over 120 , and University of Liverpool is one of the best, and we have less competition between universities so it is lots more relaxed. A big pro in living here is low cost to live here and going out is cheap, and it is easy to meet people and make friends when you come here. The down side to the whole country is the bad weather its so unstable.

Great course and university

I think the course is interesting and vital for my future career. To do this course what is most vital from you is your own eagerness to learn in this area. Liverpool is a lovely city to live in, and I have met lots of friends, and these include British friends and friends from different countries. The department it self has some issues with organization and lecturers communicating with each others and students, but overall it is a good department which is highly regarded across the world. I am lucky to be studying here. It wasn't an easy selection process hence why low score for that area.

You can't be lazy to come here

I would recommend the university, and the course. The lecturers on the course can be good, can be bad, it is just luck of the draw. We have lots of work on occasions but not all the time, it is not as intense as some courses. But when we do get work it comes at once. You must not be lazy when you come here as its only 12h a week in lecturers and the rest is down to you to do the work. The course has difficulties such as workload at times. The city of Liverpool is fantastic, great shopping. The university is very social as there are lots of groups for students to join although I have not joined any myself.
