Lovely university, but too many chinese students on my course

I would recommend the university - I think it is great. But if you come here do not pick this course. The course is mainly chinese students like 80 chinese students to other nationalities. This means you can not get the whole university experience or integrate with British students - it puts limits on you. The course itself is very good, the lectures are happy to be there, they teach well and the course is very scutured and organised well. The university is very social with many groups (societies) to join, last year i joined hong kong society, which is for students from hong kong. It is a great experience minus my course fellows.

Perfect course to become a specialist in football and management

This is the only course in the country/world like this. It is a perfect combination of football and MBA Business. My department and course are very specialist. It is a fast learning environment, with a quick pace of work. It combines the specialism of football with businses but isn't a combined post graduate. There is a FIfa MA which is simular, and at Birbeck university there is a combined course of MBA and Football, but it is not as good as this. this is perfect to be an expect in football and business. The down side here is only a few people on the course get any funding or scholarships. I would definately recommend this course to anyone who wants to be committed to football management and be an expert in this field. The course has lots of guest speakers and lecturers in which are from across the country. You make great contacts and learn lots.

Brilliant course that really prepares you for the work force

Firstly I am really enjoying my course. The department has great resources, and the prefessors are brilliant. the prefessors mke you think more deeply about the subjects and explore your horizens within the subject more. The course is very human resources specific, which is good. It prepares us really well to pass the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) examination/course. Which is the most important certificate to gain within the human resources work force. This course prepares you perfectly to pass this. The course is brilliant, they bring people who work in Human resources, and specialists (guest speakers) into the university. You get a real variety of skills and knowledge. I would recommend the university as well as the course, as the atmosphere is relaxed, great people, great football teams, price of food and confectionary is cheaper than London. Liverpool is better to live than London.

Fantastic resources

Liverpool [around the university] it is a a quite place to live [too quite?], and it is peacefull too. It depends what you want out of a city. The Law course is hard work - there is lots to learn, to memorise, to read, to check on. The university of Liverpool has fantastic online resources - such as vital where lecturers put all there lectures. It is very good, and good websites. Lecture quality can vary. I am a fully funded student from Nigeria, I get a scholarship from the Nigerian government - not the university itself. When coming here for studies be ready to learn, make sure you want to learn, and it will be lots of coursework to hand in

Course has very high expectations

Where I am from in Mexico the lecturers are more high contact time, and more specific than in the UK. Here in Liverpool we have alot of content with alot of self studying. You are expected to know lots which we haven't covered, so pressure is on for the student to understand the area of study very well. We are expected to understand and know more than is on the sylubuss. Lecturers here only guide you - but they are helpful. We have lots of group work which is good - as many heads are better than one. It is hard to get a job with this course, as high compitition and high work load which prevents time to apply to jobs. We have lots of companies come in to the university for this course to higher and talk to students - they never want international students.

Expect long hours, hard work, and difficulty finding a job - but recommended

I did my undergraduate at this university as well, the funding for my undergraduate was much better and more than for my post graduate. They do not give you information about bursaries, grants and what you are entitled too , it is down to you to find this out for yourself. The course is very very intense, it is a real struggle with ocursework, and no time to do much else let alone apply for jobs. I have struggled to find employment for after my degree - we all are . I got rejected from another job yesterday, the universities careers and employability service at good at checking CV's, covering letters and general help with applications, but to apply for a job in this field it takes over 6-8 hours per application. We have no time with all the coursework. They want us to get a good job after we graduate , but do not permit us the time to apply. Part time work I work for the university as an ambassador for international students. Other than hard work ,t he course really does give you lots of practical experience - lots of robot building, lots of things. It is very hard but does prepare you for when/if you get a job. The course is highly time consuming, sometimes I have done 28h straight in the library. Expect hard work!

A lot of Chinese students here to help you settle in (if you are a Chinese student)

The course gives you a great start for a career in the future. The course is really interesting and is what I want out of a course. It is useful to study this subject. I find it very busy for studies, you always have more to do, more to learn, more to read. It never stops. While I do not get much time to myself or to do much else, I have enjoyed traveling around the UK, it was great going to London, Southampton and Manchester. Liverpool has great travel network to across the country. This allows great travel opportunities even up to Scotland. It is a very convenient university if you are Chinese. It has a lot of Chinese students here, so you feel more at home, and friends automatically. It helps you settle into a new country with people from your native country here.

Liverpool is most wonderful place to live

In my opinion I feel the course is very good and successful. It has very nice lecturers, and of course I have learnt loads about the subject area on this course. It has helped me with my English, study skills, practical experience and alot more. I like living in the UK it has very good institutions like the National health service (NHS) - which is free health care for all, I think this is a great concept. the UK is very wonderful, and a really good experience. It has been a pleasure to live here. There is alot of activities to do if you have time away from your studies. In most areas it is 5/5. I would definitely recommend it to other students from all over the world.

I like my course, but university needs improvements

I like the university of Liverpool, but i honestly think it needs improvements. Overall it is good but not great. I think you should come here first to view it, see if it is right for you before application process. I think you need to see it for yourself. It is hard to find somewhere to eat lunch and to socialize on campus here as we have no where for students to go which is big or sufficient. The course is very good, but not too different from back home. Maybe you can get same level of studies back home which defeats point in coming here. I like the course - but it needs improvements is a good summary of it here. But improvements should be being made soon i hope.

Impressed with the University

When coming here I was unsure what to expect of the university, the city, the course, the people or anything. But so far I have been impressed with my whole study experience here. The course is really good, well taught, and i am impressed by it. I am really enjoying my experience here. The university facilities are really good. The whole environment is better than i expected it to be. The funding I got was good too to be here. The study experience is good-very good. It is hard work - be prepared for long hours of work with this course. There are lots of people from china on it, so you are not isolated and lots of people to talk too from china.
