My new chapter of life starts in Liverpool.

For me, Liverpool is a very lively place to study and socialize as well. Not too crowded and not too quite. It is just perfect for studying as well as socialize. There are many beautiful parks that I can run over, so many entertainments and festivals held in Liverpool. Liverpool citizens are also very welcoming and helpful. At the University of Liverpool, I am very pleased to meet and mingle with students from different countries, cultures and educational backgrounds. I am a postgraduate student of Operations and Supply Chain Management. The learning processes are delivered in very interactive ways through group discussions, case studies, industry visit to Jaguar Land Rover company, and simulation games. It broads my horizon that supply chain plays an important role in the operations of organizations. The University also offers very supportive facilities for the students like 24-hours library, on campus accommodations, a gym, bike-parking, etc. I also love the Student Union. There are so many clubs and activities which students can join. I belong to the athletic and cycling club since I like running and Indonesian Society. Living and studying in Liverpool is such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You will not regret your choice

The University of Liverpool offers the best student experience that someone could ask for. The quality of teaching is to a high standard and every aspect of the university is very well organised and works efficiently. So much is offered to students especially as far as social experiences and events are concerned. The facilities are very well equipped and provide everything that could be necessary to students, from the libraries to the Student Union social spaces. All the members of staff I have had a chance to meet have been friendly, helpful and very professional. The Liverpool Guild of Students is my personal favourite thing about this University. The spaces that it provides are great for social activities, extracurricular (also sportive) activities, eating and drinking or doing uni work. It is the home of the many societies which students can choose to join during their time here at the university. And finally, Liverpool in general is a fantastic, friendly and vibrant city, which very soon will feel like your second home.

Seminars are the best part

Before coming to a University in the UK make sure you do a lot of pre-research into the course and into the English language. It is alot of preperation. But this will help you lots to understand and to catch up with other people on the course. I love my course, it is really interesting. The best part of the course are the seminars - these are smalls gruops of 5-15 people from a module and we learn lots and get to have lots of debate which is really interesting and helps my learning. I would definately recommend university of Liverpool to other students and international students.

Fantastic

The university of Liverpool is so increadibly welcoming and helpful for international students. It is a great environment to integrate with british students and british life here. There are so many oppertuntiiest o get involved locally with projects like charities, and politics here too. You get to meet so many people. It is an experience i'd recommend to anyone! The city of Liverpool have 2 fantastic football (soccor) teams Everton FC and Liverpool FC, so if you like british sports it is a great home for it. The university is fantastic, the course is overall amazing and what I expected. Halls of residence is a bit grotty but its all part of the experience of coming here!

Not recommended, and the scouse accent is very hard to understand

I am fully funded from my own government for my course, and after wards I will be going to York University for my PHD in Computer science, but this course is for 30 weeks finishing in early September to help me improve my English to a higher standard, which it has done. I wouldn't recommend the university though at all, there are issues with the Language centre department. The university does not trust this department, as you end up taking the islets exam over 5 times before getting the right grades. I dislike living in Liverpool as the accent is very hard to understand, i prefer the London accent. I feel i am learning English and Scouse , rather than just English.

Beautiful University Campus

The professors on the course are really helpful, and providing you put the work in everything should be ok, the exams are easy, but the coursework is harder due to it being in English. The professors are nice too, it is a good teacher student relationship. Living in Liverpool is nice, the city is beautiful, and modern, and the university is too. It is right by the city centre. The air quality is good, and the air conditioning at the university is good. The city centre is good for food, and shopping. There is stuff to do. We have many sports teams to join and many student socities/clubs to join this helps you integrate and meet people off your course. I am part of the basket ball team, which is mainly chinese but there are some English people on there. I would like to integrate more with British students. But studies take up alot of time.

Great facilities, great city

It wasn't easy to get in, but other than that it is 4/5 all round. The city is very beautiful, and the people are very different from back home. It is a great cultural experience. The facilities around the city and the university campus are really good such as the library and the gyms. I have been to a few cities in the UK since coming here, as the transport from Liverpool across the country is very good. I have been to some other countries in the EU too. It is great studying in the UK it opens doors to Europe. I think the professors on my course are very good and coherent at explaining things. The they they give you material is good, and material on the online universities resources pages are easy to find and there is alot of it.

Very large course, great location to the city centre

The course is massive, there is over 300 people per lecture on average, and it is mainly Chinese students. The course has to many people on and you don't really get the support you need being an international student. I'd recommend the course despite this, as it is a very well run course, and it has fantastic content. It would be alot better with smaller lectures. The city has many positives, it is conveniently located next to the university, it is small enough to walk around, with good transport links into other areas of Liverpool and across the country, it is easy to get to Manchester and London. There are lots of chinese people here at the university especially on my course, which restricts integration which is a con, but if you want to integrate you can there are many social things going on at the university.

Cheap to live in Liverpool.

The university is right for me, and it is my choice, but it might not be right for others, so you must consider all your options before applying. I'd recommend the university for my course, but maybe not others. When you come here for this course, expect lots of deadlines, and lots of work to do which is hard. The work does not stop when you leave lecturers, it is alot of work. I have about 15 hours a week in lectures, plus alot of study time outside of lectures. I enjoy living in Liverpool, it has particularly nice birds (animals) like seagulls as it is by the coast and the pigeons are nice too. I dislike that it is so far away from home in China. The city has good transport links to travel to other cities in the UK so you can get the most out of your stay and it is cheap to live here.
