Best choice for me, great place to live

I was pleseantly supprised how organized the university is and how easily I could find help with whatever issue I had. Moreover the combination of experienced professionals in my field (geographic data science, great facility, personal attitude, small city and kind people of Liverpool made my study time much more easier and less stressful.

University of Liverpool is a Diversification school

1. Multiple cultures: you can find your friends come from Multiple countries in this city. In addition, if you would like to try some totally different countries foods, I think here is you best choose which have a mount of restaurants come from different countries.
2. Diversification study style: During I finished my basic education at China( primary school; high school and so on). When I come to this University I feel the totally different study style in here. I have majority time distribution with myself, it makes me more autonomous. I think this is the reason why some international student want to study with University of Liverpool.

Go Liverpool!

Both English and Politics department are great. The students who study these subjects are lucky. The university creates a cohesive community of students. Students who are thinking of coming here for university should get involved in other activities outside of lecturers like clubs and societies. Also you should get involved in your department like helping out on open days, and helping out within the department. There are great volunteering oppertuntiies and paid work within the university being a student to fit around your study time. Go liverpool!

The hard work does pay off in the end

On the law course I have learnt to apply the legal skills and knowledge in the professional world. You get lots of experience at mooting and debating. I have enjoyed my degree in law here and will be sad to leave. But i am doing a further course in London. I feel this course has prepared me well for the future. If you are going to be taking up the law course here it is lots of work, lots of reading, loads of case studies to memorize, but remember it is all worth it in the end, and all the hard work will pay off. Liverpool is a fantastic city to live, and I am really glad I have come here. Lots to do, people are friendly, and you will will never get bored this is a multi cultural and national environment to learn in.

EAP Pre-Sessional English Programme

Do not take the English Language course here!

This is an EAP Pre-Sessional programme for English course, this is for people who are going onto do a post graduate or PHD at the university who do not meet the English requirements. So in theory it is good, in practise it is not. I would not recommend the course, or the university, and this is why. The course is to improve your English. I have declined my results have gone from 5.5 to 4.5 in exams. I do not feel I am improving my written English. The university misled me and other students, we were told we can do our PHD after the completion of this programme - not upon getting a 6.5 it was upon completing this programme, but now they are saying no no i must get a 6.5. I wish I had gone to another university as I was accepted into 5 other UK ones. They mislead us - no other university makes the English worse. They have no confident in there English language centre department. The course is only 30 weeks long. I need a 5.5 to get onto my PHD programme here, this is stated on the letter. I get 80% in the university english department tests, but Islets i do alot worse. They do not take the grade from the department. If i could I would leave for another university. Maybe if you have the English requirements and do not get forced to take this course with the promise of getting onto your PHD come here, but do not take this course, the staff understand my English well but I am still being held back. I am not happy, or impressed. But yes the city is lovely. I love living here.

Fantastic

The study experience is fantastic here. The civil engineering course is really difficult but of a very good quality. I am in 1st year, so it may get easier (hopefully) in next two years. If you come to the UK for studies , you must focus on them. It is alot of work for this course, there is lots of coursework and reading outside of lecturers. I like living in Liverpool, it is very different from back home, the weather is bad and rainy and cold too. But the air quality is very good. My key advise for someone wanting to study here is the experience is fantastic, but it is alot of work don't try to be lazy you have to get on with the coursework.

Great course hours!

I really like being at the university and i really like my course. The schedule of classes are really good and suitable for students. You get alot of spare time for study, socialising and travel. It is alot of study but you get the time for it as its less lecture intensive than in China. I have not really socialised with English/British people as there are so many chinese here so it is really convenient just to talk to people from china. There is lots of chinese food shops, and even a large china town. The city is really good to live in , it has really great shops like clothes, and food. There is lots to do, you won't get bored.

You can't be lazy to do this course.

The application process to gain admissions into the university was very straight forward, I transferred from a university in Sri Lanka. I get £1,000 of my fees, so there is funding which varies on individual case. The course is tough I am not going to lie. You can not be lazy to do this course, and to do this course successfully. It is a lot of work, early starts, and deadlines. I live in a house with other students, which has been a great experience to live with my friends while studying. I have an interview next week for a graduate placement, fingers crossed for it, then I will know more about job opportunities.

Uni of Liverpool is fantastic!

I really love it here. The course is fantastic, it gives you lots of independence. Make sure you make the most of your time here. Make sure you enjoy it, and talk to your tutors and lecturers lots, they are knowledgeable and use this to your academic advantage. I love the city, the air is really fresh it is much better than the air quality in China. The accommodation here is nice too, I live in Lennon studios (unite halls accommodation). It can be noisy but it is all part of the experience being here and being a student. I rate it 5 all around. I love it.

Different educational experience

My experience has been great. The UK has been very different in education system. In the UK it is a lot less pressure, it is more relaxed atmosphere in regards to studying. The lecturers are more informal as well, as they are lectures not classes. The course is not alot of work - like it isn't too much work like back home in Singapore. We only have 3 main universities back home, but here loads like over 120 , and University of Liverpool is one of the best, and we have less competition between universities so it is lots more relaxed. A big pro in living here is low cost to live here and going out is cheap, and it is easy to meet people and make friends when you come here. The down side to the whole country is the bad weather its so unstable.
