Since opening our doors to students in 1965 as the first chiropractic college in Europe, we have built on our success each year through our commitment to excellence in all that we do. We are now offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  By choosing to study with us, we can help you go further.

Campus Life

Enjoy living by the seaside while being able to easily access the countryside and a large choice of shops and restaurants. Bournemouth also has a vibrant nightlife, with something to suit everyone. Living in Bournemouth means you are never too far from the beach and most students are able to get around easily on foot or using public transport.

Student Union

The Students' Union (SU) is a separate body to the College and aims to enrich the student experience for AECC students. Alongside the campus bar, the Students' Union offers advice and support, events, societies and sports clubs. It provides students with an independent voice throughout their study and is led by students of the College.

The SU is a dedicated team of student officers elect to position and prospective or current are welcome and encouraged to pop in with queries, suggestions or simply for a chat. The SU can provide you with help and advice on any aspect of student life including support with:

Support is available from our students' union officers, NUS qualified representative and our own qualified counsellors.

As well as helping you to get involved with sports clubs and societies at the College, the SU is also responsible for events including Freshers' Week.

Accommodation

The AECC is pleased to offer halls of residence through our relationship with Lulworth Student Company, who run Hurn House and Union House in central Bournemouth. These luxury halls are situated just two miles from the college, on a direct bus route.  There is also plentiful accommodation nearby to the College for which each year, the Students' Union prepares an accommodation guide to help students find somewhere to live.  More in the Accommodation section.

Good place to study

The facilities and support that the uni provides is very well done. Most of the tutors are very helpful and take on a very proactive role in helping students. The uni is located in a very good position but rather limited by the typical British weather.

AECC has showed up to be a great environment for studying and socialising, also mentioning the great career opportunities that've been available to us. Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculo-skeletal system and the effects on the function of the nervous system. Currently I'm a student in Year 1, just finished the Foundation Year known as Year 0. The lecturers are extremely prepared as this is a though course to follow. What we learn in lectures is often applied in tutorials and practicals as this is a hands-on profession. show less
