Overview

Overview

Founded close to 175 years ago as an independent school, the Architectural Association (AA) remains so to this date and is committed to remain a place where students may associate freely with each other while exploring the world of architecture. The AA is a place where students and tutors formulate their own positions and arguments and present their bodies of work. The AA’s collective project is the development of future architects and their education, to seek new formulations of architecture as practices that engage with the challenges and cultures of the world. Research at the AA is undertaken out of professional interest and collaborative support and is integral to every programme, seminar and lecture. The AA offers a number of scholarships and bursaries to talented students regardless of their financial means, with one in five students receiving financial support from the school.
