Overview

With a rich 125-year history, Bucks New University offers high quality, employment-focused degree programmes in a range of subject areas, from art, design and creativity to business, and nursing to pilot training.

Degrees come with a perfect blend of professional, practical and academic teaching. Bucks helps by providing students the skills to succeed, with 93% of its graduates in employment or in further study within six months of graduating (HESA Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey 2016-17). Also, the average earnings for Bucks graduates have risen to more than GBP 23,000 within six months (DLHE 2016- 2017) of finishing their studies.

Bucks has been awarded silver in the 2018 Teaching Excellence Framework. It gives the university’s students the best possible experience from their first day by creating a learning community with small class sizes, highly interactive teaching, employment-related studies and excellent academic support.

And the support doesn’t stop when the students finish their education. Its careers and employability service is available for two years after graduation to support the students as they progress into their career.

Students will benefit from impressive facilities, and when they graduate, their knowledge and experience will be up-to-date. From a flight simulator to a hospital clinic, or mixing desk to design studios, future employers will see that the students know their way around already.

Bucks is a Placements Plus university - whatever degrees the students pursue, they can be sure that there will be plenty of industry-relevant opportunities on offer, to get them into their chosen field.

It will also prepare the students for work beforehand, with special skills for work training, further boosting their CV, and building skills employers will value, and has incorporated this experience into their study time.

Placements Plus is all about helping students to get some valuable experience under their belt while they are still students, to increase their choices later, and help them get the graduate-level job they want.

Their unique Big Deal package means students also get access to a huge amount outside of their course as well – from skills workshops to societies and sports – all great for enhancing their CV as well as being lots of fun. And all available for free.

Students will be studying either in Buckinghamshire, at the High Wycombe or Aylesbury Campuses, or at the university’s London Campus, based in Uxbridge.

Frequent and fast connections to London give students easy access to the capital from all campuses, without the high living costs. All of the locations are close to train or tube stations. The major London airports, such as Heathrow Airport, are also nearby.
