ONCAMPUS Coventry offers preparation programmes for international students. A partnership between Coventry University and Cambridge Education Group, ONCAMPUS helps international students prepare for progression to university-level study.
Students can choose from undergraduate and master’s foundation and English language preparation programmes. After successful completion, they can study for a degree at Coventry University, which has recently been ranked the UK’s 15th best university (Guardian University Guide 2020).
Students study on the university’s vibrant campus and benefit from its cutting-edge facilities. This includes a multi-million Engineering building, an academic Trading Floor for business students, specialist multimedia production studios, an award-winning library and a recently-opened GBP 60 million Sciences and Health building. Social activity is encouraged at TheHub, which features a coffee shop, food court, hairdresser, the Students' Union and a 3D cinema.
ONCAMPUS Coventry classes are small in size where teaching staff can give learners plenty of individual attention. Students are assigned a Personal Tutor to act as their first point of call for any concerns or questions they have, while further support includes advice with settling into life in the UK, confidential counselling and help for disabled students.
The Students' Union runs over 130 clubs and societies, ranging from sports clubs to specialist interest groups. There are also plenty of groups and activities designed specifically for international students to help them feel at home.
ONCAMPUS Coventry is within walking distance to Coventry’s city centre, which boasts plenty of attractions to keep everyone entertained. These include the famous Coventry Cathedral, art galleries, museums, shops, a cinema and plenty of bars and restaurants.
Coventry University has recently been awarded a five-star rating by QS for the very first time. This demonstrates the university’s excellence in teaching, research and many other areas. A five-star university is, in terms of QS, “generally world-class in a broad range of areas, enjoys a high reputation and has cutting edge facilities and internationally renowned research and teaching faculty”.
The university has also stood out among other UK institutions for its accommodation provision. The annual College and University Business Officers awards gave one of the halls of residences the award for ‘Best Student Housing’ in 2019. This was due to the way it enhances its facilities for student learning and social needs, such as the top-quality gym, cinema room and open-plan social spaces.
International students receive outstanding teaching and support from ONCAMPUS Coventry at every step of their journey. Teaching staff are passionate about student success. Many have experience teaching or working overseas or in being international students themselves.
Students continue to receive dedicated support throughout their studies should they progress to Coventry University. The university is committed to providing an extremely high level of professionally-led education. It was awarded gold status for its high teaching standards in the most recent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2017). Classes and assessments are focused on the practical application of skills and knowledge, and students can benefit from the expertise and dedication of industry-experienced practitioners.
Student learning is also accompanied by top facilities and learning resources. This helps students to successfully complete their studies, and equips them with the experience and qualities that employers look for.
Students can develop their skills and prepare for undergraduate study. After successful completion of the programme, they can progress to a suitable course at Coventry University.
International students who have completed senior secondary education can prepare for undergraduate study. After successful completion of this 6-months intensive programme, they can progress to Year One of a variety of courses at Coventry, or the International Year One.
Lasting one academic year, this programme offers students progression to Year Two of Art and Design, business, engineering and psychology degrees at Coventry, upon successful completion.
Lasting one to three terms, this programme offers students progression to a variety of master’s courses at Coventry upon successful completion.
This ELPP offers progression to the International Foundation, International Year One and the Master's Qualifying Programme at ONCAMPUS Coventry. Students develop their academic English skills in writing, speaking, listening and other areas.
Students will need to meet the English language requirements for programmes at ONCAMPUS:
Students who have an IELTS score of 4.0 or above (or equivalent) can take an extended programme which includes an extra term of English language module followed by the 3 term foundation programme.
Coventry University has a GBP 50 million Engineering and Computing Centre, a brand-new GBP 60 million Science and Health building and the award-winning Lanchester Library. It’s home to TheHub, a place to meet friends, enjoy world cuisine in the food court and shop at the Costcutter convenience store. Students can also take advantage of the Students’ Union and Square One, which provides excellent entertainment events.
The university library is an extensive learning resource that offers a range of environments spread across five floors. There are many spaces for individual, silent and group studies, with open areas, bookable rooms and a Learning Lounge, which provides a relaxed group study area.
The Sports and Recreation Centre contains a modern fitness suite with all manners of cardiovascular and resistance machines, dedicated free weights and a core and stretch area. There are two indoor sports halls available for students to book for basketball, indoor football, badminton, netball and more.
There are also gym and fitness classes provided to students, from low-intensity yoga to high-energy spinning classes.
Coventry University is located on just one campus, that is in close proximity to the vibrant city of Coventry. This means that students have easy access to everything they need within walking distance.
University Square features a beautiful cathedral, which is where many graduation ceremonies take place. Student accommodation is nearby, as well as public transport, shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and much more.
Both ONCAMPUS Coventry and the university is committed to keeping students safe at all times. Uniformed security officers patrol campus 24/7 and can help with any incidents. They are first aid-trained and respond to emergency situations. The campus is also monitored by CCTV surveillance, student accommodation is secure and the learning environment is designed so students have a comfortable educational experience.
