Overview

The University of Salford is a public university formed in 1896, from a merger of technical colleges and institutes, to train a growing workforce. Staying true to its industry-oriented past, Salford has continued to build on its principles of getting students work-ready. There are approximately 23,000 registered students in the University of Salford. The university operates out of three campuses – Peel Park, Adelphi and Irwell Valley. Salford’s academic structure is organised into four faculties, each of which is sub-divided into schools, namely: Faculty of Arts, Media & Social Sciences; Faculty of Business, Law & the Build Environment; Faculty of Health & Social Care and Faculty of Science, Engineering & Environment. Salford’s strategic investment in state-of-the-art facilities facilitates innovation and creativity and reflects the university’s focus on research that supports the need of industry.
