Overview
University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was established in 1897 and is the only Church College within the University of Wales. UWTSD has three main campuses in South West Wales – Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea – as well as campuses in Birmingham and London, and learning centres in Cardiff. Originally concerned with training teachers, UWTSD expanded in the 1980s and now offers a wide range of courses from traditional subjects like theology, history and English to newer subjects such as advertising and tourism. During the 1990s, the College was given permission to offer postgraduate MA and PhD courses. Teacher training is a main part of the university’s tradition. UWTSD was ranked 13th in the UK for student satisfaction in the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022.
