The history of York College dates back to the 1800s. In September 2007, the York College opened its doors to some 13,000 learners on the Sim Balk Lane site, Bishopthorpe, York. The College offers a wide range of academic and vocational qualifications at all levels. It offers courses in the fields of Art, Design and Crafts; Business, Admin, Financial and Professional; Child Studies; Construction and Engineering; Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Media Make-up; Hospitality, Travel and Tourism; Information Technology; Science; Social Science and Health; Sport and Public Services; and Teacher Education and Training.
