About Bluffton

Home to a multifaceted student body of more than 1000 Bluffton University is the right place for those looking for an exceptional academic experience.

Location

Bluffton is situated on lush, wooded grounds that line the banks of the Little Riley Creek in the village of Bluffton, Ohio. Bluffton is a friendly Midwestern town in Allen County, Ohio, a peaceful place where neighbors on and off campus look out for each other. The rural village is home to 4,000 people as well as the 234-acre Bluffton University campus and nature preserve.

The Academic Experience

With a broad range of core courses and more than 88 academic programs, Bluffton offers a wide variety of disciplines and challenges you to think outside the box. Through dialogue-base classes and extensive writing and speaking opportunities, you’ll learn to communicate well, solve problems, think critically, and display leadership skills. These skills prepare you to face the diverse situations that will make up your future. A degree from Bluffton University is well-respected, and graduates from Bluffton are employed in a variety of successful careers. 

Scholarships

Bluffton offers robust academic scholarships which allow strong academic students to earn up to $15,000 a year in merit based financial aid.

Student Life

An active student life makes it easy to make new friends for students in Bluffton’s close-knit, welcoming atmosphere.

Students can go bowling, to the movies or enjoy Main Street shopping just a few blocks from campus. If they're looking for a day trip, Cedar Point amusement park, Toledo and Dayton are all less than a two-hour drive away.

Athletic participation is also an important part of the Bluffton experience. Nearly one-third of the University’s undergraduates are members of eight men's and eight women's NCAA Division III teams and most students are active in the intramural program.

Residence Life

Living on campus is an amazing, essential part of the collegiate experience. Students will make close friends and be exposed to new and different ways of thinking. They might even learn to love the country, hip-hop or classical sounds coming from their neighbor's stereo.
