Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) is a publicly funded university located in New Britain, Connecticut. First established in 1849, is it the oldest institution of its kind in the state, and is part of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system.
CCSU offers a comprehensive selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs spanning four academic schools. Central Connecticut State University is committed to providing support to ensure the financial stability of all enrolled students, and awards more than USD 3 million each year in scholarships to new and returning students on both merit and need based criteria. Most scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, campus engagement, and community service, however there are also many grants available on means tested criteria.

Central Connecticut State University provides an active and diverse learning experience and employs a variety of teaching methods to keep course content dynamic and challenging. There are around 400 full-time staff members in the CCSU teaching faculty. The department structure at Central Connecticut State University, consists of four undergraduate academic schools, which each deliver an exciting selection of degree programs, spanning a wide range of subject areas.
Courses provide a broad liberal education, with a strong selection of vocational elements. Students can choose to study a bachelor of arts, bachelor of science or a bachelor of fine arts degree, each of which prepares graduates for a range of careers such as law, teaching, and medicine.

Central Connecticut State University has a range of housing options available to its community of international students, to ensure that all preferences are met, and that new students quickly feel welcomed and at home. There are nine halls of residence options, only a short walk from academic buildings, recreational spaces as well as food and drink outlets. All accommodation is furnished with WiFi, TV, fitness spaces, study lounges and games areas.
The Elihu Burritt Library is a state-of-the-art facility, containing over 750,000 books, more than 3,000 periodicals, and at least 550,000 digital resources and archives available to all students. The building is open more than 112 hours per week during term time, and has a full range of academic and IT support on-site.
CCSU’s Student Center is designed for students to make the most of their time at university, and provides all the necessary services and facilities to succeed academically, and develop personally and socially. The Center is home to the Student Government, Women’s Center, and Student Activities/Leadership Development Office (SA/LD), and contains spaces for meeting, dining, events and activities.
