Established in 1893 in Frederick, Maryland, Hood College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college. The college offers 30 bachelor’s degrees, 43 minors, 25 concentrations, and pre-professional preparation in veterinary science, medicine, dentistry, and law. Hood’s Graduate School also offers three doctorates, 20 master’s degrees, and 13 graduate certificate programs that provide leading-edge content in business, the humanities, education, and STEM. Hood College is located in a compact college town where students stay within walking distance of historic Downtown Frederick, with its eclectic selection of shops, galleries, restaurants, museums, and parks. The college’s proximity to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and the I-270 technology corridor provides students with plenty of internship and research options.
