Maryville University has been recognized for its high-tech learning environment for the second time by being named an Apple Distinguished School for 2018-2021.
The accolade praises the university for its leadership and excellence in offering a high-tech and mobile learning environment, with the Digital World program offering a particular focus on digital skills and personalized learning.
Apple Distinguished Schools look to use technology in learning to encourage academic accomplishment and inspire creativity with critical thinking.
“Maryville University is proud to receive our second consecutive Apple Distinguished School designation,” President Mark Lombardi, PhD said. “The recognition reaffirms our active learning approach as a revolutionary model for the future of higher education,” he added.
Students at Maryville University can now pick up packages 24/7 thanks to a new Package Locker Station on campus.
Located on the east side of the Donius University Center, the lockers allow students to access deliveries, at their convenience, by accessing them with a unique code.
“Maryville is the first university in St. Louis to install this type of station, and we are very excited for our residential students to experience this innovative technology,” said Laura Stevens, Director of Auxiliary Operations.
As a university placing a great focus on teaching quality, Maryville has a dedicated center for teaching and learning to allow continuous development of faculty. Course specific requirements apply for admission to undergraduate programs at Maryville, whilst it lists basic entry requirements for undergraduate programs. These include the following English language requirement, where any one of the following is acceptable:
Several scholarships are available for incoming freshman students, sponsored by professional groups, fraternal organizations or companies. All students who meet the stated requirements for automatic scholarships will be awarded them appropriately. GPA is cumulative and based on a 4.0 scale, while Maryville does not use the writing section of the ACT and SAT when considering scholarships.

The university also provides a state-of-the-art library where students and faculty share research ideas and study. It includes individual work spaces and small meeting rooms to accommodate a range of needs, as well as a 4040 square foot casual venue for campus events and student meet-ups.
