Entering its third century as an institution the university has a clear vision and trajectory. The Saint Louis Research Institute has been developed alongside the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building, providing students with world-class facilities that allow them to continue to make ground-breaking discoveries. The new SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital will ensure that SLU will continue to innovate in the healthcare sector and remain a leader in the field. SLU has also launched an ambitious fundraising campaign that aims to give the university the momentum to continue its positive development.
Changes are also happening within the city of St. Louis, notably the midtown region, with SLU an active participant in shaping the future of the area through collaborations with developers and community partners. Some of the projects SLU are involved in include the Armory District, Chouteau Greenway, City Foundry STL and Prospect Yards.
Saint Louis University is encouraging high school and undergraduate students to participate in the unique and creative Superhero U competition. The program is designed to encourage entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and identify student talent. Students stand in line to win a trip to United Nation, New York, USA, scholarships up to USD $10,000 and other exciting prizes. All you need to do is design a superhero character that tackles a global issue, in line with the United Nations sustainability goals. Saint Louis University’s Jesuit traditions mean that excellence in research and teaching is at the core of the university’s values. Ranked 26th in undergraduate teaching (U.S. News and World Report), the university is ranked 47th on the list of U.S. colleges with the best professors.
In 2019, 17 of SLU’s programs ranked in the top 50, with health law, healthcare management and international business ranking among the highest. With small class sizes, one of the university’s core values consists of making academic success a student priority. Saint Louis University provides students with international admission counselors to support with applications and transitioning to living and studying in the United States. Students can get support in obtaining an F-1 Student Visa, as well as help with setting up course schedules and class registration. SLU’s counselors also introduce students to organizations and activities across the campus and within the city of St. Louis, Missouri.

Students can also submit proof of successful completion of a college-level English class at an accredited university or college. All entry requirements will be determined by the chosen program.

Fully accredited by the International Association of Counselling Services (IACS), the center is run by trained clinicians and supports students with a variety of issues.
Students who attend SLU can choose to stay in one of the university residence halls, all within walking distances of the library and student centers. With 92 percent of freshmen choosing to live on campus, SLU students can apply to live in a wide variety of accommodation options.
Students can access several scholarships at the university which recognize academic accomplishment, leadership capability and service involvement. Scholarships are awarded within the first term and are automatically renewed each year.
Upon completion of an online application for undergraduate admissions, students are automatically considered for the following merit-based scholarships:
Billiken, Ignatian, University, Deans’ and Vice Presidents’ scholarships, which range from USD 8,000-USD 23,000 are based on previous academic performance and official SAT/ACT scores. The scholarships are automatically renewed providing that students maintain full-time enrolment and the necessary GPA. The award can be renewed for eight semesters or until the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first.
